SHS embarked on a year-long rebranding effort to get to the root of what Burns & McDonnell really stands for. The result? An integrated brand campaign that stretched across multiple industries with one powerful message at its core: Create Amazing. You see, Burns & McDonnell isn’t just about engineering a new power plant. Or building the next skyscraper. But making the world a more amazing place, one project at a time.

Burns & McDonnell came to SHS in need of brand a refresh. The industry saw them as a 117-year-old engineering firm. However, that didn’t scratch the surface of what Burns & McDonnell was all about. They weren’t just engineers. They were architects. And consultants. And scientists. And entrepreneurs. And visionaries. To tell this story, SHS took the three blue bars from their previous logo and turned them into a new stylized ampersand. Not only did the ampersand represent the diversity of their offerings, it symbolized the unbreakable partnership they form with their clients. And the drive to go above and beyond.
