Sullivan Higdon & Sink Is Business Marketing Association's "Agency of the Year"; A Top Winner in Kansas City Omni Awards and BMA's National Pro-Comm Awards

February 20, 2001

SHS was named Friday national "Agency of the Year" by the Business Marketing Association (BMA), just hours before being honored as one of Kansas City's top agencies.

SHS won more of BMA's national business-to-business Pro-Comm awards than any other agency and was named BMA's "Agency of the Year" during an afternoon Webcast.

That evening, SHS won more 2000 Omni awards than any other agency, 57, and tied another Kansas City agency for the most first-place awards with 18. The Omni awards celebrate the best creative work in Kansas City and are presented by the Kansas City Ad Club.

"It's gratifying to see our work ranked at the very top in the nation," said Joe Norris, SHS creative director and CEO. "And it's even more gratifying that this award-winning work produced great results for our clients."

SHS has placed either first or second in the BMA Pro-Comm Awards competition for six consecutive years. The Pro-Comms is the world's largest business-to-business communications awards competition. The 2000 awards competition received nearly 1,000 entries from across the nation in 40 different categories.

SHS won four "Best of Show" Pro-Comm awards, including those for SHS client Birch Telecom's radio and television commercials and for brochures and posters that the agency created for Cessna Aircraft Company. The winning entries can be viewed on the BMA Web site at www.marketing.org, and the strategies and tactics used by the winners will be presented at BMA's annual conference in Tucson, Ariz., this June.
