SHS announced today that it has been named agency of record for Lycoming, a Textron Company. Based in Williamsport, Pa., Lycoming is an operating division of Textron's Avco Corporation subsidiary specializing in manufacturing and supporting piston aircraft engines that power more than half of the world's general aviation fleet.
SHS will work with the company to develop and implement an integrated marketing communications program. The scope of work will range from overall brand positioning to external communications, media relations and advertising.
"We wanted someone to take a fresh look at our marketing who could combine communications expertise with an understanding of the aviation industry," Michael D. Wolf, president of Lycoming, said. "SHS is the ideal agency because it has a fundamental understanding of general aviation, the aviation marketplace and the aviation consumer."
"We're very proud to add an industry leader like Lycoming to our roster of blue chip aviation and aerospace clients, and as our launch client here in D.C.," Tim Letzkus, vice president of SHS' Washington D.C. office, said. "Our strategic D.C. location and depth of aviation experience make for a perfect partnership with Lycoming's rich history and deep knowledge of powering general aviation around the globe."
Sullivan Higdon & Sink, founded in 1971, has played a major role in print advertising for the general aviation community for decades. With six licensed pilots on staff, the agency has more than 500 years of combined aviation experience.
