Exceptional Teacher Promoted to Media Director

Associate media director Cheryl Tulipana has been recognized for her ability to advance client business through a promotion to the role of media director.

Tulipana has 17 years of experience working for agencies in the Kansas City area. Her focus areas are strategic media planning and research, and media buying for a variety of clients and industries, including agriculture, healthcare and food.

“Cheryl has used her curiosity and vast media knowledge to develop unique campaigns suited to each client’s needs,” said Jim Vranicar, chief operating officer. “She is a master of combining traditional media with new, innovative digital media in order to best reach desired audiences.”

Whether it’s managing incredibly tight timelines to develop plans and implement media schedules across the entire U.S. for a tax season client, developing a company’s first direct-to-consumer campaign or making media strategy come to life in new business pitches, Tulipana has proven she will go the extra mile to exceed client expectations.

“Cheryl is the definition of leading by example,” said Vranicar. “She constantly educates the staff she manages, her colleagues and clients on the right way to implement media planning concepts. Cheryl is one of the best teachers I’ve ever been around, and her desire to educate herself and others gives her instant credibility and trust with all those she works with.”

With consumers’ constantly evolving choice in how, when and where they will consume media, Tulipana says she is excited for this new opportunity to lead the SHS media team.

“I love being part of such a dynamic industry, and being able to lead our fantastic team of talented media professionals at SHS is a privilege,” Tulipana said.

In her new role, Tulipana will take on more responsibilities such as pitching new business, onboarding new clients, overseeing the agency’s media product and managing and mentoring media team members.
