Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Names Sullivan Higdon & Sink Among Area’s Top 10 Small Businesses
The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has named Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) one of the area’s 2015 Top 10 Small Businesses. SHS specializes in borderless ideas for brands that want to stand out from the flock. The agency uses collaborative, multi-disciplined teams versus a traditional agency departmental structure to generate integrated ideas.
“We are always looking to learn and try new things, and this as an opportunity to learn from our fellow finalists who represent Kansas City’s best small businesses. That alone is a reward in itself,” said John January, Co-CEO, Sullivan Higdon & Sink.
The agency’s purpose is to help people and brands make the transformative changes to become the best version of themselves. Today, the agency represents local, regional and national clients with a global reach and has annual capitalized billings of $126 million and 140 employees.
“We’ve had phenomenal growth in the past few years, and that’s a result of our talented team members and our clients who entrust their business with us.” said January.
Last year, the Business Marketing Association honored SHS as the Midsize Agency of the Year and in 2013, Advertising Age named SHS the Small Agency of the Year-Midwest. Founded in 1971, SHS has offices in Kansas City, Wichita and Washington, D.C.
The KC Chamber represents more than 2,200 businesses and their 300,000 employees in the two-state, 13-county metro area. The 29th Annual Small Business Celebration hosted by the KC Chamber, is a series of events that supports and celebrates the small business community within the Kansas City region. Companies from across the area submit applications for this prestigious award, and are judged on: strong growth and sustainability; outstanding employee relations; and a passion for community service.
After rigorous review, the judges narrow the field of candidates to the Top 10, and the celebration culminates in awarding the Mr. K Award to the Small Business of the Year on May 13. The coveted Mr. K Award is named for Kansas City’s own Ewing Kauffman, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
