Nine Sheephaters-in-Training Join SHS For Summer Internships

Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) has hired nine interns for its 12-week paid summer internship program. Five interns will work in the Kansas City office and four will work in the Wichita office. Interns will be placed on agency teams and work on client projects with mentors. They will gain a better understanding of how an advertising agency functions and learn to create strategic works that stands out.

Kansas City Interns:

Brenden Wray is an art direction intern from San Benito, Texas. He graduated from the University of Missouri in May with a bachelor’s degree in journalism – strategic communications as well as minors in film studies and business. In his free time, Wray says he binges on way too many movies and TV shows. His favorite movie is “Juno” because it’s the film that got him interested in screenwriting.

Danny Rosenberg of Overland Park, Kansas, is a junior at the University of Missouri and is double majoring in journalism and psychology. As a copywriting intern, Danny will learn how to use the power of words to persuade customers. His favorite movie is a three-way tie between “Superbad,” “Boyhood” and “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Amanda Fuson graduated from the University of Central Missouri in May with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design and studio illustration as well as a minor in graphic tech. She is an art direction intern from St. Joseph, Missouri. In grade school, Amanda’s family rode a four-seater bicycle to school.

Bree Zuchowski is a production intern from Olathe, Kansas. She is a senior at Washburn University and will graduate August. She is majoring in mass media with an emphasis in public relations and minoring in Spanish. In her free time, she likes to read Harlan Coben novels, cheer on the Royals and binge watch “Orange is the New Black.”

Georgina Rubio, a reputation management intern from Emporia, Kansas and Grand Island, Nebraska, is a senior at Kansas State University. She is a marketing major with an international business certificate. She is also minoring in Spanish and public relations. She loves to crowd surf—as long as no one drops her.

Wichita Interns:

Vanessa Gonzales is a junior at the University of Kansas. As an account service intern, she is majoring in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications and minoring in business and Spanish. Vanessa is a Wichita, Kansas native and loves to watch college basketball and explore Lawrence.

Jennifer Manning is a reputation management intern from Wichita, Kansas. She is a junior at the University of Missouri majoring in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications. She loves to read and is a loyal member of #BachelorNation.

Meg Stessman is an art direction intern from Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Wichita State University in May with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design and a minor in communications. Something unique about Meg is that she is deaf in her left ear because of a virus she caught when she was 16.

Peter Smith is a film and media studies major at the University of Kansas with a minor in American studies. He is a motion and video intern from Wichita, Kansas. Peter will graduate from KU in December. Peter’s favorite movie is “Space Balls” and he’s notorious for talking during movies.

Selection for an SHS internship is highly competitive. Final selection is based on a candidate’s grades, student involvement, work portfolio and personal interviews.
