Marketing firms are known for fun-loving cultures, creative abundance and just-quirky-enough-to-work ideas. But none of it would be possible without a strong leader crunching numbers behind the scenes. Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) recently hired Tony Robinson to fill that important role.

“As the agency grows, Tony’s experience will help ensure we’re managing the agency’s finances at the highest level, and being the best stewards of our clients’ marketing investments,” said Ali Mahaffy, Co-CEO.

Robinson joins the agency’s leadership team as vice president, director of finance. He brings nearly 20 years of financial acumen to SHS, and will be responsible for the agency’s overall administrative and financial operations, including accounting, forecasting and regulatory compliance.

“We’ve known Tony for years through our shared participation in AMIN, a global network of advertising agencies,” said Rand Mikulecky, managing partner at SHS. “We’ve been impressed with his overall understanding of our industry’s financial challenges and the way he has found solutions that are fair and fiscally sound for both the agency and its clients.”

“During my time in the industry I’ve admired SHS’ philosophy to hate sheep – to lead, rather than follow,” said Robinson. “I’m excited to help move the business forward, and slay sheep along the way.”

Robinson embodies one of SHS’s core values – passion. He wanted to be in advertising from the start of his career, and found his skills were aptly suited in the financial arena. He comes from Richter 7 in Salt Lake City, where he was chief financial officer for the past eight years. Robinson earned his bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business. Additionally, he also provides his expertise as a member of the board of directors for the Tyler Robinson Foundation, which supports families experiencing pediatric cancer.
